Clarence R. Johnson Jr. has practiced law for over 30 years concentrating in litigation including general civil, criminal, contract, personal injury and probate law. Clarence has mentored numerous high school students, law students and new attorneys who have worked at his firm.
Clarence is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is a past President of the Gate City Bar Association. Clarence has also served on the Boards of the National Bar Association and Atlanta Bar Association. Clarence has been a partner in Johnson & Freeman LLC and has had his own firm, Clarence R. Johnson Jr., PC for 10 years. Clarence has also taught at the Emory University Paralegal Program.
Clarence, a native Atlantan, graduated Magna cum laude from Clark College (now Clark Atlanta University) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in Public Policy and Temple University with his Juris Doctorate. He began as a law clerk for the Honorable Clarence Cooper on the Fulton Superior Court, and then practiced municipal law with the firm of Glaze, Fincher and Bray as well as an Associate City Attorney for the City of Atlanta Law Department and Senior Staff Attorney with the Fulton County Attorney.
Because of Clarence’s concern for the community, he has run twice for the Fulton County Superior Court receiving over 42,000 and 50,000 votes respectively.
Clarence is a long time member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity as well as Ben Hill United Methodist Church where he has held numerous leadership positions.
